Bernadette Cachara PsyD
Director
Licensed Psychologist
Dr. Cachara is a Licensed Psychologist and the Owner and Clinical Director of the practice. She earned her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Argosy University (formerly The American School of Professional Psychology) and has over 16 years of experience in the field of psychology. Her clinical training includes a specialized doctoral internship at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, where she received extensive training in childhood trauma under nationally recognized experts.

Dr. Cachara is a certified therapist in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and is trained in Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). She also incorporates play therapy and sand tray techniques in her work with young children.

Dr. Cachara places strong value on the therapeutic relationship, believing that meaningful change occurs within a supportive, nonjudgmental environment. She integrates EMDR, an approach that emphasizes understanding how past experiences shape present-day thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. She also draws from an Internal Family Systems (IFS) perspective, helping clients better understand and work with the different “parts” of themselves in a compassionate, accepting and respectful way. This integrative approach supports healing at a deeper level, promoting lasting change. Dr. Cachara sees clients at both the Carlisle and Chambersburg office locations.

Tammi Tanner
Licensed Clinical Social Worker/ Registered Play Therapist
Tammi Tanner specializes in working with children (3+), adolescents, and families. Tammi is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Registered Play Therapist (RPT). Additionally, she is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) and Certified Child and Adolescent Trauma Professional (CATP). Tammi treats a variety of concerns including difficult life experiences, Trauma, Depression, Anxiety, Adjustment and Attachment Disorders. She also enjoys working with the LGBTQI population.
Tammi values the therapeutic relationship. She strives to provide an atmosphere of safety, trust and nurturance to foster the healing process. Through the power of play and expressive therapies individuals and families can build trust and mastery, foster learning, co-regulate emotions, promote creative thinking and problem-solving, develop open communication and a sense of self. She is trained in sandtray, attachment and trauma focused therapies including Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR).

Ashley Tannous, LCSW

Perinatal Mental Health Certified
Ashley Tannous is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and holds her MSW from the University of Pittsburgh with a certificate in Integrated Healthcare. Ashley is an EMDR certified clinician specializing in trauma; having additional training and experience working with those who struggle with medical trauma and perinatal trauma (birth trauma, loss, NICU, IVF, etc.). Ashley is also certified in perinatal mental health through Postpartum Support International and has a passion for working with individuals navigating their parenthood transitions, including work with perinatal mood disorders.
Ashley practices through a holistic lens; helping her client's navigate and understand their symptoms and behaviors as connected to their whole story. She believes in the importance of helping clients regulate their nervous system, develop an understanding of themselves, and overall increase self-compassion through use of various evidence based therapies including EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and somatic work. Ashley believes in meeting her clients where they are at- recognizing therapy is not a one size fits all model and strives to give her clients individualized treatment interventions based on needs and compatibility. She focuses her work with clients from the ages of 13 years and older.

Laura Rhoads, LPC
Licensed Professional Counselor
Behavioral Specialist
Laura Rhoads is a Licensed Professional Counselor who has a specialized license as a Behavior Specialist. She is a graduate of Pennsylvania State University. Laura has extensive training in the use of behavioral modification with children diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorders.
Laura values the therapeutic relationship. She provides a warm and open style, allowing others to feel comfortable in their work with her. Laura uses an eclectic approach including behavioral interventions and cognitive behavioral therapy. She believes in a collaborative treatment approach, working with families as well as with teachers and other school officials to maximize treatment. She is a strong advocate for parents as they navigate the school system in efforts to obtain educational, behavioral and emotional support for their children. Laura works with individuals from toddlers to young adults with a variety of behavioral concerns, impulse regulation, social skills, anger management and anxiety.

Rebecca Anderson LCSW
Licensed Clinicial Social Worker
Rebecca Anderson is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) working with children, youth, and adults. She attended graduate school at the University of Texas at Austin and has prior work experience spanning community-, home-, and school-based settings.
Rebecca employs a trauma-informed care approach which emphasizes choice, transparency, and collaboration. Her experience across settings and age groups reflects her interest in the impact environment and relationships have on development, well-being, and identity formation. Rebecca enjoys supporting clients with anxiety, depression, trauma, identity, and family stressors. She has a particular interest in work related to family of origin/reparenting, perinatal mental health, and navigating the early parenting years.
Although trained in a variety of approaches, she has particular expertise in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), mindfulness, and self-compassion interventions. She has completed training from Postpartum Support International (PSI) and is also Level II Certified in Facilitating Attuned Interactions (FAN), a reflective intervention to support the relationship between caregiver and child. She is also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and is excited to offer this specialized psychotherapy to her clients, where appropriate.

Emily Kinney, MS, NCC, LAPC
Licensed Associate Professional Counselor
Emily Kinney is a Licensed Associate Professional Counselor (LAPC) working under the supervision of Dr. Bernadette Cachara to become a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). She is expected to obtain full licensure in 2026. Emily completed her graduate work with Walden University and has over 8 years of experience working with children, teens, and adults in homes, schools, inpatient, and outpatient-based settings. Emily has an interest in working with anxiety disorders, depression, behavioral disorders, life transitions, self-esteem, infertility, postpartum, and trauma.
Emily believes in the value of the therapeutic relationship with her person-centered approach as well as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI). She provides a trusting, calm, and judgment-free atmosphere that allows for change and healing.

Arwa Livick, PhD, LPC, NCC
PhD Counselor Education and Supervision
Licensed Professional Counselor

Arwa is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Nationally Certified Counselor, holds a PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision, and an MEd in school counseling. She has provided therapy to students at Harrisburg University of Science and Technology who have faced challenges with anxiety, depression, trauma, identity development, anger, familial distress, discord, body image, and suicidal behaviors. Additionally, Arwa was a middle school counselor for 14 years. The blend of school and clinical counseling gives her a unique perspective on how environmental, cultural, and social factors shape development over time. Her research on interconnected environments offers further insight into development across the lifespan.

Arwa has also taught in master’s-level counselor-in-training programs at two universities. Her passion for the counseling profession is evident in her dedication to preparing future counselors.

As a person of color, Arwa has awareness of systemic issues and shared experiences that help her connect with clients of color. She values building strong therapeutic relationships and offers a safe, non-judgmental space for clients. She believes the relationship is the foundation of all therapeutic change. Arwa believes in using various strategies from evidence-based therapy for behavior change, motivation, acceptance, insight, and trauma-informed models. Currently, Arwa is pursuing professional development to help people recover from eating disorders.
